Patrice Lucien Cochet was born in Paris, France, where he studied Computer Science and Electro-Mechanics until the age of 21. He then came to the United States to start a new career in the movies. Patrice went back to school and attended the University of Central Florida of Orlando to study Directing. Once there, Patrice quickly found himself spending more time behind the camera and photographing his classmates' projects. After graduating with a BA in Directing, Patrice applied to The American Film Institute (AFI) as a Cinematographer. He graduated from AFI in 2000 with an MFA in Cinematography. Patrice has since then shot 9 feature length films and found features to be his passion. His first feature, which received some attention, was a digital project called "Chance." It featured Amber Benson and James Marsters, both regular cast members of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." He then went on to photograph a feature called "Better Luck Tomorrow (BLT)," a coming of age story. The film was selected as part of the official dramatic competition at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival and received tremendous critical acclaim. It was given a wide theatrical release by Paramount. BLT, which had been shot for $150 000, grossed over $30 Million (including rentals/sales). Patrice's latest project, "Doing Hard Time" featured Boris Kodjoe who was the lead on the Showtime hit series "Soul Food". Sony Pictures distributed “Doing Hard Time”. Watch for Patrice's latest completed film soon in a theater near you. "Pray for Morning" is a horror/thriller which was directed by Cartney Wearn and produced by BluNile Films. Patrice is currently attached to many projects including another Sony Pictures film called "Black Eyed Peas," an independent boxing movie based in New York City called "The Sit Down", and an Indian production to be shot in Goa called "Samsara."
