Michael J. Duthie
Editorial Consultant
Michael J. Duthie got his start in editing in documentaries in England. He moved into feature film editing early and while on On Her Majesty’s Secret Service he met director Peter R Hunt. Michael and Peter teamed up a few times, with Michael as lead editor. One such venture was Shout at the Devil that starred Roger Moore and Lee Marvin.
Michael then went on to work on such films as Superman, The Movie with Richard Donner, and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. At that point he headed over the pond to Hollywood. Since that time, Michael has edited such blockbusters as Universal Solider and Stargate for Roland Emmerich; the instantly classic Westerns Tombstone and Open Range; and Stigmata. Michael also had a large hand in making Jackie Chan to a top box office draw in the United States by reshaping a number of his movies, including his first major success in the U.S., Rumble in the Bronx.
Michael still lives and works in Hollywood.
